Dr. Deirdre Greer received her B.S.Ed. and M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from Columbus State University. She received her Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University.
She taught in the Muscogee County School District for 8 years. She
began teaching at Columbus State University in 2004 and is currently the Dean of the College of Education and Health Professions.
Her research interests include children’s development of logico-mathematical knowledge, the relationship between logico-mathematical constructs and neurological research, motivation and attention as important factors for classroom success, improving elementary mathematics instruction through teacher preparation and
professional development, and improving education through school and university partnerships.
Dr. Greer enjoys visiting elementary classrooms to co-teach and teach model lessons in mathematics as part of her service to the education community.
